Last week, we had some left over fruit from Stu’s latest marathon chutney making session.
Lydia and Stu switched places at the shop which left Lydia down at the unit. After she had prepared the customer orders, she set about making a mystery chutney with the fruit that was left. It turned into Abbotside Gold. I even sold a jar today in the shop.
It has cranberries, apples, plums, apricots, root ginger but to name a few ingredients! Have to say, I tried a trial jar and it was very tasty.
We have sold over 500 jars of our hand made chutney in our Little Cheese Shop over the past 2 1/2 months, which we are very pleased about.
I counted the different varieties today: we have 17 on display today and a couple that haven’t yet made it to the shelves, awaiting labels.
