We are very proud that Bettys of Harrogate have been a customer for quite a while, but we have never met them!
One day back in October, Lydia and I ventured out of the Dale, passports at the ready, to meet up with our wholesaler
who puts our cheese into Bettys and do a cheese tasting of the 15 cheeses that we make ourselves.
We had a great time and Lydia glammed up for the occasion, unlike me – I should know this by now! I just find doing glam very hard: must get out more.
Corbett, our host particularly liked our Blue Wensleydale, our Tasty Wensleydale and our Matured Wensleydale. He was also really surprised with our 2 Gold Star award winning Natural Rinded matured Goat cheese, saying that you could barely tell that it was a goat cheese – very delicate with a great texture. I think the three highlights of the tasting were our Blue Wensleydale, our Natural Rinded Matured Goat cheese and our Yorkshire Goat Gouda, pronounced so creamy and smooth. Not an easy cheese to make, but worth the hassle.
Now, our task is to think of some lovely recipes using our cheese. As all three of us enjoy cooking – hence our chutneys, so we have all been beavering away in the background developing
new recipes for our cheese…watch this space!
