Hello to 2012!
Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas break and great New Year celebrations.
Well, it feels like I have not been away from work. In a sense, we have it quite lucky, that because we do not have our own animals: goats, sheep and cows, it means we do manage to get a break from making cheese and can close over the Christmas period.
Our friends over at Mrs Kirkhams, Dewlay, Butlers, Carron Lodge, Singletons and our friends up the road at Wensleydale Dairy do not have that luxury.
Here I am, just finalising some orders to go out tomorrow, Tuesday 3rd Jan. I’ve lost count of how many times I have written 2011 instead of 2012, it will take time.
Both January and February are traditionally slow months for us, both on the wholesale side of the business and in the shop too.
But it is a good time to plan for the forthcoming year, what we are going to make, how and when; discuss ideas for new products, carry out some trials, make some more chutneys, have a good deep clean and prepare ourselves for our forthcoming BRC audit and our annual EHO inspection.
Here’s to a successful 2012 all round!
