Ribblesdale Cheese Blog is Three Years Old; 75,000 hits!

I know it is not a lot compared to some of the really big blogs, but it is something we are all really proud of.

I hope that we can continue to raise the profile of Ribblesdale Cheese, we are only a two and a half person artisan cheese makers, specialising in goat cheese and we are not very good at marketing.  Having said that, we are going to be interviewed next week by a journalist who is writing a piece about artisan cheese makers in the Dales for the inflight magazine for Flybe.  I am really looking forward to meeting the journalist!

I only started the blog three years ago.  In the first year, starting in May 2010 which now seems an age ago, we achieved an average of 23 hits a day, in 2011 we averaged 59 hits a day, in 2012 94 hits a day and now in 2013, we have so far received on average 112 hits a day.

Thank you to our 90 or so e-mail and blog subscribers for continuing to read stories of our cheese making and my rambling, occasionally self opinionated rants, putting up with gratuitous pictures of Penny Pig and Snouter (whose trotters are slowly getting a little better) and Stu’s dog, Pip.  

But on a more serious note, I hope that our blog documenting the trials and tribulations of a small artisan cheese maker in North Yorkshire is interesting to readers.

Here are the two and a half of us, without whom, Ribblesdale Cheese would be a very different company: me, Stu who makes our cheese and Andrew who is only a half by virtue of his size – I think I am twice the size of him, he could disappear down a drain if he stood sideways and that he works for us 2-3 days a week.  There are (rare) pictures of the three of us below.
